Commuter Benefit

Please note, the Commuter Benefit administrator is changing to IGOE on January 1, 2026. See the Open Enrollment page for more information. WEX Health is the administrator for the remainder of 2025.

The commuter benefits program, administered by WEX, allows employees who commute to and from work to set aside pre-tax funds to pay for work-related transit and parking expenses. Eligible expenses for the commuter benefit include transit passes, fare cards, parking, and vanpool expenses.

You may deduct pre-tax money from your paycheck to pay for commute-related expenses which can help reduce your taxable income. The 2025 maximum monthly contribution for mass transit or parking accounts is $325 for each account ($340 in 2026).

Review the WEX Commuter Benefits Handout available on this site for IRS rules and more information about these accounts.
